The Scottish Highlands are the largest and most dramatic mountain range in the British Isles, containing Britain's highest mountain in Ben Nevis, the main sking area in the Cairngorms and probably the most beautiful coastline on the western coast, where sea lochs wind deep into the mountains.

We start our coverage of the Highlands with a picture gallery for Ben Nevis and the Fort William Area, and will be adding more coverage and a number of walks over the next few months. Our second update includes an ascent of Stac Pollaidh and a picture gallery for Stac Pollaidh. Our third update adds the ascent of Ben Nevis from Glen Nevis.

The heart of our coverage of the Highlands will be the Guide, based around a gazatter and clickable maps.
