My name is Benjamin
He softly said
And gave a gentle shake
Of woolly head
My name is Benjamin
He called out loud
Looking to inform
The tourist crowd
It’s BENJAMIN I say
Why can’t you hear?
I’ve said it quite enough
Oh dear, oh dear
Rose to his feet
And stood upon a boulder
He bleated BENJAMIN
With stiff-squared shoulder
With angry face
He climbed on to a rock
It’s BENJAMIN
He blathered to his flock
Why do they get it wrong?
The hurt’s gone deep
They look at me
And all they say is SHEEP
