Kinder Low is the highest point on Kinder Scout although it is only about ten feet higher that Crowden Head, nearer the centre of the plateau. This makes it the highest point in the Peak District, a few feet higher than Bleaklow Head. The summit area has a very distinctive feel to it, with the combination of exposed rock and fine sand giving it an almost Martian image.
