Kirkby-in-Furness

Kirkby-in-Furness is a village that grew up around a railway station, and that was formed from six earlier hamlets, some of which are still quite distinct from the main village. The six hamlets - Soutergate, Sandside, Beckside, Wallend, Marshside and Chapels - are mostly away from the main road, and face out across the Duddon estuary.
