High Wray sits on the hills above the north-western shores of Windermere, on the slopes that run down from Latterbarrow to High Wray Bay.
Directions: High Wray can be reached from Clappersgate. Turn off the main road to cross the Brathay. Follow the road towards Hawkshead for a mile and a half and then turn left onto the minor road that heads to High Wray and Wray Castle.
