Guide: Lochaber

Lochaber contains some of the most dramatic scenary in the Highlands, with both Ben Nevis and Glencose in the heart of the area. In the south-east the area contains part of the wilderness of Rannoch Moor, while in the north-west is the Knoydart peninsula, an area cut off from the rest of the road network. The main town is Fort William, almost at the foot of Ben Nevis, but the area includes a large number of coastal villages, including the pretty Arisaig and the ferry port of Mallaig, linking to Skye.
