The path up the cliffs on Plover Hill

Only three footpaths climb up on the summit plateau of Pen-y-Ghent. Two are well known, but the third, which climbs up the north face of Plover Hill, is often deserted. From the base of the hill this path appears to climb rather alarming across the top of the cliffs that line the hill, but this is something of an optical illusion. While the path does indeed pass close to the cliffs, it does it at a point where they are only a few feet high.
