Bowlees is a small hamlet in upper Teesdale, close to Low Force waterfall. Bow Lee Beck, which runs south into the Tees just to the east of the hamlet, also contains a number of impressive falls and part of it forms the Bowlees and Gibson's Cave Nature Reserve. There is a useful car park at the nature reserve, linked to the hamlet by a good footpath.
