Keld

Keld is just to the west of Shap, on the very edge of the National Park - the park boundary runs along the opposite side of the River Lowther, which runs around the south and west of the village. The tiny hamlet has less twenty houses, although it does have its own chapel, probably built in the early sixteenth century and now owned by the National Trust.

Directions: Keld is just to the west of Shap, and can be reached along a minor road that branches off the road from Shap to Bampton.
